Since the end of August 2025, the Buon Ma Thuot Investment and Construction Project Management Board (under the Dak Lak Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board) has installed hundreds of street name signs with integrated QR code scanning.
Users can scan the code from their phones to learn about the names and careers of the heroes, historical events associated with the route, and also use the navigation function, open the map, or share the address.
On Le Duan Street, Ms. Tran Luong My Nhan (residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward) scanned the QR code and immediately read a summary of information about the late General Secretary .
Vu Thanh Van, a student at Tay Nguyen University (Dak Lak), was also eager to experience the journey along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street. In the context of digital technology applications, the ability to search for information using a smartphone anywhere is essential.
"Now, just by strolling down the street, we can review the history and important events of our country. This is especially meaningful for students visiting the center of Buon Ma Thuot for the first time," Van said.
The project was approved by the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City (formerly) in April 2025 with a total investment of over 3.2 billion VND from the budget, to be implemented in the period 2025 - 2027.
Thirty-six decorative street signs themed "Buon Ma Thuot - the world's coffee destination" have been installed on main thoroughfares such as Le Duan, Tran Hung Dao, and Nguyen Tat Thanh; in addition, 204 other standard street signs have been added.

The nameplate pillars feature a modern design, incorporating the city logo and QR codes for searching information about the individuals and events associated with the 31 newly named streets.
The list includes national leaders, famous figures, and heroes such as Nguyen Tat Thanh, Le Duan, Tran Hung Dao, Chu Van An, Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Du… to intellectuals and leaders of the Ede ethnic group such as Ama Jhao, Ama Khe, Y Bih Aleeo, Y Ngong Nie Kdam.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu, chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot ward People's Committee, said the project contributes to urban beautification, aligns with Resolution 72 on piloting some special mechanisms for Buon Ma Thuot, and aims to build a smart city and promote digital transformation.
