That is the perspective of MSc. Dinh Van Mai, soft skills lecturer, Student Capacity Development Center, Van Lang University with The Gioi and Viet Nam Newspaper on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2.

In the digital age, how can each sharing of young people not only be pure information but also become a "heartbeat of responsibility", contributing to spreading the spirit of patriotism?

In the proud atmosphere of National Day September 2, the young generation has more motivation to affirm their bravery, intelligence and national identity on the global digital map. Each positive sharing today is a deep gratitude to the previous generation, a practical action to spread the spirit of love for the homeland and country.

Immersing ourselves in that rhythm, we can practice the 4C principles to build a digital space that is safe, responsible, humane, and full of patriotism. The 4C principles are specifically:

First, accuracy. Information is true, verified from official sources. Second, standards, respectful content, respectful words, civilized and polite attitude. Third, specific, clear, easy-to-understand, convincing messages, and at the same time linked to practical actions. Fourth, select appropriate information and digital platforms, share positive and valuable information. When we use our intelligence and heart to spread, the spirit of patriotism will be strongly multiplied in the digital space.

Can you share your views on building a safe and humane digital space, where each individual can both express themselves and nurture love for their homeland and country?

Building a safe and humane digital space is essential. To do that, we need to put people, especially young people, at the center so that they have the opportunity to express themselves and nurture their love for their homeland and country.

First of all, young people need to be trained in self-protection skills in the digital space to avoid problems such as fraud, cyber violence or fake news. In addition, young people should be encouraged to sow the "seeds" of humanity, positivity, kindness and practicality through each share, each image, each word and each action to create a civilized, respectful online community, in accordance with cultural and legal standards.

Songs with familiar and simple lyrics about the theme of homeland and country were composed by young people; trending videos celebrating National Day September 2 were creatively and solemnly expressed; or together changing the avatar frame, changing the avatar "Proud to be Vietnamese", "I love my Fatherland", "Fatherland in my heart" and many posts sharing pride towards the A80th Anniversary as a call for hearts to turn to the origin of the nation with all deep gratitude.

In addition, using digital technology to spread national cultural values, history as well as stories about ordinary but extraordinary Vietnamese people is not only a source of pride but also a responsibility to connect patriotism in the era of globalization.

How important is the role of education, especially schools and families, in forming in the young generation the awareness of using digital technology in conjunction with civic responsibility and national pride?

Education is an important foundation for the young generation to enter the digital age confidently and responsibly. In particular, families need to guide their children in choosing appropriate content on social networks, helping them distinguish between right, wrong or harmful in each content they access, forming safe social network usage habits from a young age.

Most importantly, families instill national pride from the smallest things such as guiding children to behave politely through greetings, thanks, and apologies; sharing good examples and good deeds; telling meaningful stories about history and culture; exploring questions about major holidays or learning about historical sites, thereby gradually helping children preserve the image of Vietnamese people when entering the digital space.

Schools can integrate digital skills education, digital safety, and personal responsibility in the digital environment into the curriculum or extracurricular activities; guide students to practice the ability to use technology to express patriotism both creatively and responsibly through experiential activities such as projects to support disadvantaged communities, design media publications, or competitions to learn about the culture and history of the nation, and important holidays such as National Day September 2, etc.

Family and school working together will create two protective arms, helping children have a solid value filter, not being caught up in the negative aspects of technology.

Faced with the current situation of false and harmful information on the Internet, what solutions do you think we need to help young people know how to select, verify and spread positive values?

To do that, it is necessary to synchronously implement many specific solutions:

First, equip young people with digital skills through training courses or offline and online sharing forums on how to identify fake news, verify information, and use fact-checking tools.

Coordinate with families, schools, and youth organizations to guide the proper use of technology, guide access to official information, and launch movements or campaigns "young people say no to fake news" in schools to convey positive messages, linking digital citizenship responsibilities with patriotism.

At the same time, apply digital platforms to spread positive values through short videos, infographics, podcasts, etc. to replace attention from toxic content.

From passive information users, each young person needs to become an active creator with the skills to identify, select and spread good values . From there, the digital space becomes a great school to nurture civic responsibility and love for the Fatherland.

In the future, what do you expect from the young generation of Vietnam when participating in the global digital space, to both integrate internationally and preserve national love and identity?

The digital space is a vast global stage. Where every young person is not only an audience but also a creator, initiator and leader of positive trends. I hope you will become smart and responsible digital citizens to use digital platforms effectively for studying, working and contributing. You are the "cultural ambassadors" on cyberspace to tell stories about your homeland, country, Vietnamese people, cuisine, tourism... in creative and familiar language, spreading to international friends to better understand and love Vietnam.

In the face of the integration wave, we still preserve Vietnamese identity from language, costumes, lifestyle to humanistic values, kindness, solidarity and "remembering the source of water when drinking". No matter where we are, the intelligence of Vietnamese people and love for the Fatherland will be the driving force that urges young people to be creative and work hard to contribute a small part to building the image of a modern, humane and rich-in-identity Vietnam.

How to leverage the power of "digital information flow" to become a "cultural - patriotic flow", contributing to affirming the country's position in international integration?

In my opinion, taking advantage of the power of digital information is not only to spread quickly and widely, but more importantly, to turn each share into a heartbeat of patriotism. Digital technology needs to be creatively applied in traditional education, building a digital database of images, stories, historical figures, etc. as a source of material for the younger generation to tell the story of Vietnam to the world in modern language.

At the same time, social networks must become a space to spread kindness, where hashtags, beautiful stories and meaningful actions connect the patriotic digital community, together promoting Vietnam - a dynamic, creative, friendly and responsible country to the world.
