
Reporting on the results of building, mobilizing, managing, and using the "For the Poor" Fund of Thuan An commune, Bui Thi Loi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan An commune and Chairman of the Women's Union of Thuan An commune, said that the remaining funds transferred from the former communes amounted to 272.829 million VND.
Before the dissolution of the district-level administrative unit, the "For the Poor" Fund of Gia Lam district and 4 communes: Dang Xa, Phu Son, Duong Quang, and Le Chi (formerly) provided support to near-poor households and those with particularly difficult circumstances in the area totaling 524 million VND, including: support for 6 means of production development; construction of 5 new houses and repair of 1 solidarity house, totaling 358 million VND; gifts and support for examination and treatment of serious illnesses; and support for voluntary social insurance contributions totaling nearly 100 million VND.
From July 2025 to the present, the "For the Poor" Fund of Thuan An commune has provided a total of 59 million VND in support, including: Donating 72 gift packages to near-poor households, farmers' association members, women's association members, youth union members, veterans, the elderly, people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, and children from near-poor households with difficult circumstances on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, each package worth 500,000 VND; donating gifts to children at social protection centers; and donating 45 gift packages to children with difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, each package worth 500,000 VND.




The commune transferred funds from the city's "For the Poor" Fund to donate 8 gift packages to members of political and social organizations with particularly difficult circumstances, worth 40 million VND; and mobilized resources to donate 10 bicycles and school supplies to students on the occasion of the new school year's opening, totaling 20 million VND. The remaining fund as of October 10th was 213.829 million VND.
The Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan An commune also coordinated with the People's Committee of the commune and the Front Work Committees of the villages and residential areas to review the support needs of near-poor households and households with difficult circumstances; organized a team to assess and review 21 households in need of support for house construction and repair; assessed the dossiers of 39 cases requesting examination and treatment of serious illnesses; developed a support plan for 2025 and the first six months of 2026, including: supporting 17 cases of special difficulty (from 1-2 million VND/case); giving gifts to near-poor households and households with special difficult circumstances in 46 villages and residential areas (expected 2 cases per unit, gift worth 700,000 VND); supporting the purchase of health insurance cards, house construction and repair for households with difficult circumstances...

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan An commune, Nguyen Van Dat, launched the "For the Poor" and social welfare campaign for 2025, calling on philanthropists, units, organizations, businesses, workers, and people in the area to actively participate in the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - no one should be left behind".
The organizing committee announced the results of the "For the Poor" Fund of Thuan An commune, which received pledges of support from 75 units, organizations, and individuals with a total amount of 748.989 million VND.


On this occasion, Thuan An commune acknowledges the compassionate hearts and generous contributions of the collectives and individuals who have supported the commune's "For the Poor" Fund; providing assistance for the construction of 4 new houses (60 million VND/house) and the repair of 3 houses (30 million VND/house) for disadvantaged households in the commune.
