According to sources, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to visit India before the end of October.

This will be his second visit to India since becoming British Prime Minister in October 2022. His first visit was during the G20 Summit last September.

The event comes amid reports that a free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the UK could be signed before the end of this year.

Prime Minister Sunak is likely to visit Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra state, if the FTA is signed while he is in India.

If the FTA is signed, it will be India's first trade agreement with a developed country after it signed an interim trade agreement with Australia in 2022.

For Britain, the deal is part of a push to seek diverse global trading relationships after it leaves the European Union (EU).
