Ruben Amorim said nice words when kicking Garnacho out of MU

Coach Ruben Amorim unexpectedly had kind words for Alejandro Garnacho, who was eliminated from the MU squad and is about to move to Chelsea.

Alejandro Garnacho is one of them. The Madrid-born player, who plays for Argentina, has been out of Amorim's plans since the end of last season.

Recently, while preparing for the friendly match with Everton in the US (taking place early this morning), Ruben Amorim shared about Garnacho.

The Portuguese strategist affirmed that his decision to drop the 21-year-old player was not personal.

“ Garnacho is a very talented boy, but sometimes things don't go as expected,” Amorim said. “You can't explain specifically why.”

The former Sporting Lisbon captain detailed: “I have the feeling that Garnacho wants something else, under a different management.

I can understand that. It's okay. Sometimes you get along with someone, there's a connection. Other times, you want a new challenge.”

These words contrast with Amorim's reaction to Garnacho right at the end of round 38 of the 2024/25 Premier League - "he should pray to find a suitable club to sign a contract" , he said at the time.

Ruben Amorim said that what he has done in the past at MU is for the good of everyone.

“We try to make things right for all parties – for the club, for the coach and for the players. That is natural in football,” he concluded.

Garnacho has received many offers but he only wants to stay in the Premier League. The Argentine talent is waiting to join Chelsea.
