On the night of January 10th, the Russian army launched a new wave of attacks targeting Ukrainian military facilities. Explosions were reported in the Kherson, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, as well as in rear areas near the front lines, including the town of Konstantinovka. Konstantinovka is a major stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the center of Donetsk.
Most of the Russian attacks targeted military objectives in the Kharkiv border region. This area has been frequently attacked by the Russian military since Ukraine attacked the Russian city of Belgorod on December 30, 2023.
Last night, at least three Russian airstrikes were confirmed by local authorities. The Russian military is believed to have used S-300 missiles to attack the targets.
This latest attack inflicted further damage on industrial facilities in the city of Kharkiv. According to local sources, one of the targets attacked was the Kharkiv Aircraft Plant. This facility currently serves the needs of the Ukrainian army, producing missiles and cruise missiles there.
Another target damaged in last night's Russian airstrike was Kharkiv-Severny airport. The military equipment storage facility located at the airport was destroyed.
Shelling and airstrikes have also been reported in Kupyansk. On January 9, Ukrainian military commanders led by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov arrived in the Kupyansk region to hold a tactical meeting and discuss the situation in that direction.

Earlier, on January 7th, RT reported that the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that two Ukrainian fighter jets had been shot down within 24 hours.
The ministry said that one of the aircraft was a Su-25 close air support plane, reportedly shot down by Russian air defenses not far from Dnepropetrovsk, 150 km north of the front line. The other aircraft was a Su-27, shot down near Krivoy Rog and 140 km west of Dnepropetrovsk.
The Russian military also stated that they intercepted 14 missiles fired from HIMARS and Uragan missile systems. Six Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship rockets were also shot down by Russian forces. According to the statement, Russian forces also destroyed 38 Ukrainian drones across the front line in 24 hours.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that, in total, Russia has shot down 567 fighter jets, 265 helicopters, and 10,526 drones since the start of the conflict in February 2022.
