Samsung ushers in a new era of foldable phones with the Galaxy Z TriFold

After the Galaxy Z Fold7 launched last summer, there have been many rumors about the appearance of the Galaxy Z TriFold triple-folding screen smartphone.

Samsung has finally officially introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, its first dual-hinge foldable smartphone. The product has a 10-inch AMOLED main screen, uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip exclusively for Galaxy and has the largest 5,600 mAh battery ever in Samsung's foldable smartphone line.

The Galaxy Z TriFold design includes two panels that fold inwards for an optimal user experience, combining a durable titanium hinge housing and an impact-resistant aluminum frame. The outer display measures 6.5 inches, similar to the previous Galaxy Z Fold7.

Samsung said the Galaxy Z TriFold will be available in Korea on December 12 and is expected to launch in the US in the first quarter of 2026. Currently, the product's selling price in Korea and the US has not been announced.

At the Galaxy Unpacked event last summer, the Galaxy Z Fold7 impressed with its thinness of just 4.2 mm when opened, but the Galaxy Z TriFold is even thinner, just 3.9 mm when opened. However, the product has a thickness of 12.9 mm when folded, thicker than the 8.9 mm of the Galaxy Z Fold7.

“The Galaxy Z TriFold solves one of the mobile industry’s oldest challenges – delivering the perfect balance of portability, premium performance, and productivity, all in one device,” said TM Roh, CEO of Samsung’s Mobile Experience (DX) business. “It pushes the boundaries of mobile productivity, creativity, and connectivity.”

The product has a thin and light design, along with many advanced AI features.

The Galaxy Z TriFold also features a triple rear camera setup, including a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Both the outer and inner screens feature 10MP selfie cameras. Additionally, Samsung has highlighted that the Galaxy Z TriFold is compatible with all Galaxy AI features, such as Photo Assist and Sketch to Image, as well as integration with Google Gemini, including Gemini Live.

With the starting price of the Galaxy Z Fold7 from 2,000 USD (official price in Vietnam when launched is 46.99 million VND), it will not be surprising that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be announced by Samsung at a higher price.
