In 2022, DSCC expert Ross Young shared that suppliers were in negotiations with Apple to create a 20-inch foldable display. The company's idea was to combine the usability of a laptop with a single screen, similar to what users see on an iPad.
The product can function as a laptop with a full-size keyboard, and can also function as a standalone display when not folded or when used with an external keyboard. Young also stated that the device can offer resolutions up to 4K or higher.
For his part, in his Power On report, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman corroborated Young's reports, stating that Apple will use a 20-inch foldable display with a physical or virtual keyboard on one side of the foldable screen.
