The market for OCOP products in Gia Lai province is becoming bustling as the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025 approaches, with many businesses, establishments, and shops stepping up production and supplying products to the market to serve customers.

"Racing against time" to serve the Lunar New Year

These days, Huy Vu Dak Doa Beef Jerky One Member Co., Ltd. (Dak Doa district) is rushing to produce various types of beef jerky to serve the market for the Lunar New Year 2025. The working atmosphere has become busy for many weeks. Since the beginning of December 2024, the company has proactively contacted sources to calculate the output of beef jerky to serve the needs of consumers during Tet.

Ms. Tran Thi Diem Kieu - Director of the Company - said that in addition to selling to wholesalers, the company also has a number of corporate customers who order products as gifts. Therefore, the company has designed eye-catching and luxurious gift boxes to serve customers during Tet. In addition, the company also cooperates with local OCOP entities to make gift baskets including coffee, dried bamboo shoots, pepper, dried beef, etc. to increase the choices for customers.

“Huy Vu beef jerky products (dried beef strips, dried beef pieces) have been certified with 4-star OCOP, and are rated as good quality by customers, so the products are available at many OCOP stores in provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Yen Bai . The quality of dried beef depends a lot on the processing method, especially the fresh ingredients. Therefore, the company has to import raw materials daily to make it, not buy frozen ingredients. Normally, the price of raw materials will increase about 1 month before Tet. However, the company still keeps the selling price as usual to ensure the profit margin for stores and agents” - Ms. Kieu added.

Many production facilities and cooperatives have received orders early, increased promotion, and made continuous efforts to expand production and business. As both an OCOP entity and a specialty store, Ms. Doan Thi Thuy (Nghia Hung commune, Chu Pah district) shared: “In addition to making gift baskets and gift boxes for customers' convenience, I also accept packages according to customers' requests. My store is located right in the area of hundred-year-old pine trees - a place with many tourists . This is not only an opportunity to promote local specialties but also expects strong consumption during the upcoming Tet holiday.”

According to Ms. Thuy, in addition to coffee, honey, macadamia nuts, beef jerky, products from deer antlers, bird's nests, cordyceps, ginseng wine, herbal tea... are also included in Tet gift baskets by businesses and stores. The price of gift baskets of 5-9 items ranges from 350,000 - 800,000 VND. In addition, there are also high-end gift boxes on the market priced up to 2 million VND.

Focus on design to increase brand recognition.

Gia Lai boasts many OCOP (One Commune One Product) products that consumers choose to use during Tet (Lunar New Year). Besides preparing the raw materials for production, OCOP producers also focus on designing beautiful and unique packaging to make their products stand out in the market. At the same time, many OCOP producers innovate their distribution channels to bring consumers the best products during Tet.

This is the second year the company has made Tet gift boxes to serve customers.

“From the beginning of November, the company designed suitable and elegant wooden gift boxes. In addition to products manufactured by the company, we also included OCOP products and specialties from Gia Lai such as dried mangoes, roasted cashews, macadamia nuts, dried beef… in the gift baskets to increase customer choices and contribute to promoting the province's OCOP products. Commenting on the consumer market for this year's Tet holiday, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thu – Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Gia Lai Department of Industry and Trade) – shared: “Through trade promotion programs, OCOP products from the province have received support for consumption and market development in many localities nationwide.
