Overseas Vietnamese star was removed by coach Troussier before the match against Palestine

On September 8, coach Troussier announced the shortlist of 26 players for the Vietnamese team to prepare for the match against Palestine.

The group of players not in the French strategist's plan includes: Defender Hoang Thai Binh , Bui Tien Dung, midfielder Nguyen Huu Son, Duong Van Hao and striker Dinh Thanh Binh.

Of the four players promoted from the U23 team, only defender Giap Tuan Duong was retained by the French coach.

Meanwhile, defender Tran Nam Hai was added to the U23 Vietnam team to prepare for the 19th ASIAD.

Notably, overseas Vietnamese player Nguyen An Khanh was also eliminated from the shortlist by coach Troussier.

Despite his great efforts during training, An Khanh still could not meet the professional requirements of the U23 team's coaching staff as well as the Vietnamese national team.

However, coach Troussier still highly appreciates the potential of the 18-year-old player and is always ready to create maximum conditions for this player to develop.

The call-up of An Khanh to the training list also shows the desire of the Vietnam Football Federation to attract resources from Vietnamese players living abroad.

According to plan, the Vietnamese team will have one more day of training in Hanoi before moving to Nam Dinh on September 10 to prepare for the match against Palestine.
