According to VNA, the Quadrantid meteor shower will occur between December 28, 2023, and January 12, 2024, reaching its peak on the night of January 3-4, 2024.
The International Meteor Organization (IMO) estimates that up to 120 meteors can appear per hour on peak nights; equivalent to 1-2 meteors per minute on clear nights.
The Quadrantids meteor shower tends to originate from the constellation Bootes and is named after the ancient constellation Quadrans Muralis, which is made up of dust particles left behind by Comet 2003 EH1 as it passed through Earth's orbit.
Scientists suggest that the best time to observe is after midnight, when the meteor shower is at its highest point on the northeastern horizon.
