On October 7, FIFA officially announced the appointment of Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) - as a member of the FIFA National Team Competition Committee for the 2025 - 2029 term.
FIFA affirmed that it will support and facilitate Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan to complete his work well in his new position. The FIFA National Team Competition Committee is responsible for advising and advising the FIFA Council in planning strategies, organizing and operating important international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, FIFA U20 World Cup, FIFA U17 World Cup and tournaments under the FIFA system.
Currently, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan is holding many important positions in continental and regional football organizations, including: Member of the Standing Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Chairman of the Competition Committee of AFC and AFF, and Member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023 - 2027 term.
Most recently, Mr. Tuan was trusted by AFC to be the Head of the Executive Committee of the 2026 ASIAD men's football event in Nagoya (Japan).
In addition to Mr. Tuan, VFF also has two other representatives appointed to participate in FIFA's professional committees. They are Secretary General Nguyen Van Phu - FIFA Medical Committee and Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Thanh Ha - FIFA Women's Football Committee.
The fact that Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan and VFF representatives are trusted by FIFA has continued to affirm the prestige and position of Vietnamese football in the world .
This is also an important milestone, contributing to creating more opportunities for Vietnam to contribute to the general development process of world football.
