Esplanade Theatre is where 17 years ago, Ha Anh Tuan performed for the first time, contributing to bringing Vietnamese music and Vietnamese cultural identity to the audience in Singapore in the art program Duyen Dang Viet Nam of Thanh Nien Newspaper (August 2007). He and the prominent faces of the Sao Mai rendezvous contest: Pham Anh Khoa, Phuong Linh combined in a youthful and vibrant R&B, pop ballad and rock medley, as representatives of the vibrant musical styles of Vietnam at that time.
The theme Sketch a rose is inspired by the famous script Tin o hoa hong by Luu Quang Vu, which is a story of belief in beauty, in the kindness that always exists.

And now, also at this place considered a cultural architectural symbol that Singaporeans are always proud of, Ha Anh Tuan has returned, sweeter and more elegant, more confident and mature to master the stage and lead his own musical story, with a proud concert in his singing career - Sketch a rose .
"Tuan imagined he would sing with a few people below, but Tuan didn't think you were real players," he "greeted" his musical friends like that when below the theater's auditorium, in the 1,600 audience filling up there were countless "familiar faces" who had traveled "across Vietnam" with him, from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi , from Hoi An to Da Lat or back to his hometown in Ninh Binh to share the same musical breath with Ha Anh Tuan.
The male singer born in 1984 confidently "sketches" roses, also believing in the musical path he is on.

This time, when Ha Anh Tuan "flew" to the island nation with music, he and music director Nguyen Huu Vuong, orchestra conductor Tran Nhat Minh "designed" a "drawing" that is true to the name of the program, full of emotions, energy of love, of youthful aspirations and belief in the good things in life. The music chosen by Ha Anh Tuan this time all comes from young musicians - people whose talents he loves and admires: Thanh Nghiep, Tran Duy Khang (of the Chillies group), Vu., Vu Cat Tuong and Phan Manh Quynh. Among them, Khang, Vu. and Phan Manh Quynh are also guests, as he said, who just came to visit and left behind valuable gifts.
Sketch a rose is a concert with many of the newest songs written for Ha Anh Tuan. It is worth mentioning that this is the first time performing those songs, but besides the songs associated with Ha Anh Tuan and known by heart by his audience, the new melodies that resounded seemed to have no distance between strange and familiar. They are Nhung khi dung vo, nhung khi ngo dai or Khach tho by Thanh Nghiep, Dia dang by Tran Duy Khang or Con nho, Ta chao nhau by Vu., Em by Vu Cat Tuong and the song that is the symbol of the program - Hoa hong by Phan Manh Quynh.
Ha Anh Tuan keeps up with the youth when collaborating with Vu, as well as seeking out the music of Phan Manh Quynh or Tran Duy Khang.

When talking and introducing these new compositions, Tuan said that the musicians asked him: "What do you want to write about?" , and the "answer" Tuan gave was "what do you want to bring to the audience". It could be personal emotions, with what you have experienced or are aiming for, but those new songs have "sketched" the vibrant beauty of the rose painting, which is also the beauty of Vietnamese music that Ha Anh Tuan wants to bring, to leave on the Esplanade theater stage yesterday. That is also the wish of director Cao Trung Hieu and the crew when preparing the Sketch a rose project (in Singapore and Australia): the music of Sketch a rose is Vietnamese music and will be the mark of Vietnamese artists at international-class theaters.
Sketch a rose becomes a "picture of faith" for audiences who love Ha Anh Tuan, love the beautiful values of music and life.

Ha Anh Tuan shared with the audience - his musical companions - that he hopes to be happy with music under the dome of the theaters in his dreams, "when the musician in me is happy, the audience will be happy, and then our 'rose' will bloom brightly to live and believe in kind things".
According to the organizing team, the show's ticket categories are inspired by famous Tarot cards with concise symbols - telling the story of a person's journey to find himself.

After 2 live concert nights at Esplanade Theatre, Singapore (June 11, 12), the next performance in Ha Anh Tuan's music project series Sketch a rose will be held at Sydney Opera House, Australia on September 29.
I have been to Ha Anh Tuan's concerts many times. I have hardly missed any of his shows since 2018. This time, it was the first "show flight", with 2 days in the lion island.
Even though we didn't fall in love with Ha Anh Tuan's music (laughs), I often took my husband to see it, so he also became his fan.
I like watching live shows because listening to live shows is more emotional and better than listening to them on the phone or TV; I like the way you make shows from the stage, concept..., everything is very meticulous and special. Your shows don't need an MC because you lead the story in a really engaging way. Your way of life also inspires a lot of young people. Even the theme this time is the same, giving the audience more faith in the good things around us, more love for life and people. A very humane theme!
