On the evening of May 31st, the People's Committee of Hoang Liet Ward (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi ) issued an initial report on the case of a nanny abusing a newborn baby.
According to initial information, Mr. Nguyen Van B. (born in 1992, residing at HH2C Linh Dam, Hoang Liet) hired Ms. Vu Khanh Chi (born in 2002, Ngo Dong town, Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province ) as a domestic helper to care for his newborn child (1 month old, not yet registered for birth certificate). Chi had been employed for about a month.
On May 31st, Mr. B. reviewed the security camera footage from his child's bedroom and discovered that at around 2 AM that day, Chi had physically abused his child. Therefore, Mr. B. requested that Chi report to the Hoang Liet Ward Police Station for questioning.
The nanny in the yellow shirt repeatedly burst into tears and begged for forgiveness after the incident was discovered by the homeowner's family.
Mr. B. stated that the child's health is stable and there are no injuries. Mr. B. did not report the incident to the police and did not request any action be taken against Chi. Mr. B. only warned Chi to prevent recurrence and to make her realize that her actions were wrong.
Hoang Liet Ward Police have drawn up a record of the above incident and reported to Hoang Mai District Police to coordinate verification according to regulations.
Currently, Hoang Liet Ward Police are detaining Chi for investigation and verification.
The child is currently being monitored at the National Children's Hospital.
