Strengthening educational and training cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Japan

DNVN - On the afternoon of July 21, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc received Mr. Takebe Tsutomu - special advisor of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two sides, especially in the field of education and preparations for the upcoming Vietnam - Japan Festival.

At the reception, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, and highly appreciated his positive contributions in promoting the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general, as well as between Ho Chi Minh City and Japanese partners in particular. In particular, the role of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance has been recognized through many effective activities in Ho Chi Minh City in recent times.
In order to mark a turning point in the model of urban expansion, with the merger of the administrative boundaries of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring localities such as Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc proposed that the Japanese side consider the idea of organizing the Vietnam - Japan Festival in 2026 in the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau area.
To increase the attractiveness, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested that the Japanese organizing units develop programs related to the theme of the sea and the typical cultural features of the southern coastal region. In the following years, the festival can be held in rotation in the old Binh Duong area with more diverse content and forms.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc received special advisor to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union Takebe Tsutomu.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee also affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City always attaches importance to and wishes to deepen the Vietnam-Japan friendship through expanding cooperation in the fields of culture, education and training. According to him, this is an important foundation to strengthen the connection between the two countries in a sustainable and substantive manner.
In response, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu thanked the Ho Chi Minh City government for its attention and support for the activities of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, especially in organizing the Vietnam-Japan Festival. He hoped to continue to receive support and cooperation from the city in organizing the 11th festival in 2026.
Mr. Takebe also said that he will coordinate with Japanese organizing units to discuss and evaluate the possibility of organizing the festival in the Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong (old) areas, in accordance with the new regional development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City.
