Strengthening cooperation between Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and Hokkaido (Japan)

As part of the program of the visit to Hokkaido province and participation in the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024, Japan, this afternoon (August 8th), the Quang Ninh provincial delegation, led by Mr. Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Hokkaido province, Mr. Suzuki Naomichi. Also attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance; and leaders of several local departments and agencies in the province.

On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Dang Xuan Phuong, thanked the Governor of Hokkaido Province for inviting Quang Ninh Province to visit Hokkaido Province and attend the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024. He also informed the leaders of the Hokkaido provincial government about some positive results that Quang Ninh Province has achieved in socio -economic development.

Comrade Dang Xuan Phuong affirmed that Quang Ninh province always values and wishes to further strengthen cooperative relations with Japan in general and Hokkaido province in particular. With the efforts made in the past, Quang Ninh and Hokkaido provinces have achieved some outstanding results in many fields; however, the potential and advantages of the two provinces are still very great.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation highly appreciated Governor Suzuki Naomichi's role in actively directing the functional agencies of Hokkaido province to closely coordinate with Quang Ninh province to strongly promote cooperation between the two provinces. He also proposed several key areas of cooperation between the two provinces in the coming time in the fields of tourism , culture, trade promotion, training, human resource exchange; and attracting investment, especially high-tech, advanced, clean, and environmentally friendly FDI projects.

Hokkaido Governor Suzuki Naomichi expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Quang Ninh delegation to Hokkaido and their participation in the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024. He also welcomed the proposals from Quang Ninh province and pledged to prioritize their inclusion in future cooperation programs between the two provinces. He hoped that the visit of the Quang Ninh delegation and the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024 would be a great success, further promoting exchanges and cooperation between Quang Ninh and Hokkaido, and contributing to deepening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

As part of their work program, Comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Quang Ninh Provincial Delegation to the National Assembly, and the Quang Ninh Provincial delegation will participate in various activities such as the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Festival in Sapporo 2024; surveying several high-tech production facilities and tourist areas; and attending seminars and forums.
