(Baothanhhoa.vn) - At 12:00 on August 26, the Civil Defense Command of Thanh Hoa province issued Official Dispatch No. 29 issuing Alert II on Chu River at Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station.

Telegrams sent to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the following communes and wards: Lam Son, Xuan Hoa, Tho Xuan, Tho Lap, Xuan Tin, Xuan Lap, Sao Vang, Thieu Toan, Thieu Trung, Thieu Hoa, Thieu Tien, Thieu Quang, Dong Tien.

According to the flood warning bulletin on Chu River No. DBLU-37/02h30/THOA dated August 26, 2025 of Thanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 11:00 a.m. on August 26, the water level on Chu River at Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station was +9.9m (0.5m below BĐII); the warning water level downstream of Chu River at Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station is likely to reach Alarm Level II (+10.4m) at around 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on August 26, 2025.

The Provincial Civil Defense Command issued an Alert II on the Chu River at Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station, requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the above communes to immediately deploy dike patrols and dike protection according to the alert levels. Organize inspections, reviews and be ready to deploy plans to ensure the safety of dike works; especially key weak dike points and culverts across the dike in the area. Proactively deploy plans to evacuate people living in the riverbank area. Organize a 24/24 hour duty, closely monitor the development of rain and floods to be ready to handle situations from the first hour; promptly inform and report to the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Control Command Office and the Standing Office of the Provincial Civil Defense Command.
