Accordingly, the overall objective of the plan is to assess the current state of health tourism development in Thua Thien Hue province, and then propose solutions for developing health tourism destinations in the province in the future. The plan aims to diversify local health tourism products, create a breakthrough in health tourism development, build tourism into a key economic sector, and contribute to making Thua Thien Hue a leading and distinctive health tourism and medical center in the country and the region.

Furthermore, it is necessary to implement synchronized solutions regarding policy mechanisms, infrastructure investment, and facilities for the development of health tourism , supporting and encouraging businesses to invest in developing health tourism services and products linked to tourism development in the locality. Develop and diversify health tourism products and services, combined with training and developing human resources to serve at health and wellness resorts; define models of health tourism products in the province for exploitation and further investment and improvement in the future.

The specific objectives are to systematize the theoretical and practical basis of health and medical tourism. To assess the potential and analyze the current state of exploitation and development of health and medical tourism at locations associated with health and medical tourism in Thua Thien Hue province. To survey and evaluate the needs of domestic and international tourists as a basis for developing health and medical tourism products that meet tourist demands.

Develop several model examples of health tourism products in the province for exploitation and further investment and improvement in the future. Design and digitize several health tourism and medical tourism programs using virtual reality technology, simulating health tourism and medical products in Thua Thien Hue.

Propose solutions to enhance the exploitation and development of health and wellness tourism in Thua Thien Hue province in the coming period. Implement the tasks listed in the priority projects and activities supporting investment in the development of products and infrastructure for health and wellness tourism destinations in Thua Thien Hue province during the 2024-2030 period. Maximize the participation of local authorities, people, and communities; management, exploitation, and benefit-sharing by the local community, with professional support from consulting units.

To achieve the above objectives, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province has assigned relevant units to carry out key tasks such as: Developing policies to attract investment in the development of health tourism projects/models; Investing in infrastructure to develop health tourism destinations; Developing health tourism products and services; Strengthening training and education; and Enhancing the promotion and advertising of health tourism.
