Alcaraz, Sinner challenge on the way to Paris Masters final

The Paris Masters is the last ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year and all the players are eager to win the championship. Except for Novak Djokovic who decided to withdraw, many of the world's top stars such as Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverev, Taylor Fritz are all present.

Top seed Alcaraz is not playing in the 2025 Shanghai Masters and has his sights set on the Paris Masters. The Spanish star has a first-round bye and will face either Cameron Norrie or Sebastian Baez in the second round.

Potential opponents if Alcaraz goes through are Jiri Lehecka, Valentin Vacherot or Arthur Rinderknech. If he goes further, Alcaraz could face Casper Ruud or Felix Auger-Aliassime (quarter-finals) and Taylor Fritz or Alex De Minaur (semi-finals).

Alcaraz did not play well at the Paris Masters, his best result was reaching the quarterfinals in 2022 and losing to Holger Rune. The Spanish star played 9 matches, won 5 and lost 4 at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in France.

Now I pay more attention to maintaining my fitness, training and coming here with the mindset that I can get good results. This year is completely different to last year and I like that. I wouldn't say I played badly on indoor courts. I think there are other players better than me in these conditions. I have to be ready for that."

After winning the 2025 Vienna Open in Austria, second seed Jannik Sinner has little time to rest to prepare for the Paris Masters. The Italian star opens his second round with a match against Alex Michelsen or Zizou Bergs. Sinner could face Miami Open champion Jakub Mensik in the third round.

Sinner's potential quarterfinal opponents are Ben Shelton or Andrey Rublev. If he makes it to the semi-finals, Sinner could face third seed, defending champion Alexander Zverev, or Daniil Medvedev, before waiting for a dream final against Carlos Alcaraz.
