The 0-1 defeat against the Philippines not only brought disappointment but also put the Vietnamese women's football team under immense pressure in the race to qualify for the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team must win against Myanmar to secure a place in the semi-finals.

In this match, coach Mai Duc Chung, despite keeping Huynh Nhu on the bench, fielded his best players. Particularly noteworthy were the two "speedsters" Bich Thuy and Thanh Nha in attack, playing alongside Hai Yen. The midfield featured two players in excellent form: Thai Thi Thao and Van Su.
Under immense pressure, the Vietnamese girls quickly increased their pace and launched a preemptive attack on their opponents right after the opening whistle.
In the 8th minute, following a throw-in, the ball was lofted into the penalty area, and despite his modest height, Van Su rose powerfully to head the ball into the net against Myanmar.

Six minutes later, the Vietnamese women's team scored their second goal. Hoang Thi Loan's effort on the right wing inadvertently hit the crossbar of the Myanmar goal, and Bich Thuy was there to head the ball into the net, increasing the score to 2-0.
Conceding two goals in six minutes completely demoralized the Myanmar girls. They tried to attack afterward but were unable to get close to Kim Thanh's goal.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's team slowed down the pace of the game towards the end of the first half but still maintained their composure to preserve the score.

At the start of the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung refreshed the attack by bringing on Huynh Nhu and Minh Chuyen. Although the Vietnamese women's team didn't attack as aggressively as in the first half, they still maintained the initiative, especially with the defense playing focused to minimize the opponent's attacks.
Not only were they trailing, but the Myanmar girls also faced pressure as, in the other match being played simultaneously, the Philippines were leading Malaysia by a significant margin. Myanmar needed to score two goals against Vietnam to advance.
This led to the Myanmar players playing with a negative mindset, and they struggled to break down the opponent's defense.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's team played defensively, concentrating a large number of players in their own half to defend. Coach Mai Duc Chung instructed his players to play deep, with only striker Huynh Nhu positioned at the front for counter-attacks.
The Vietnamese girls maintained their 2-0 lead until the end of the match, securing their place in the semi-finals of the SEA Games 33 as group B winners.
It is evident that, during the most difficult and challenging times, Hai Yen and her teammates demonstrated the remarkable courage and spirit of Vietnamese women to continue their journey in defending their title.
