Proud of my excellent friend and student.
Having successfully passed the weekly and monthly rounds, and especially excelling in the fourth quarter round with 215 points, Nguyen Nguyen Phu, a student in class 12 English 1 at the High School for Gifted Students ( Hanoi University of Education), has become the representative of Hanoi students to participate in the televised final of the 2024 Road to Olympia competition.

The live broadcast of the final round was held at the Temple of Literature – National University, a sacred site symbolizing scholarship in the capital and the entire country. It was even more significant as the final round took place during a period when Hanoi was bustling with events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital and the day honoring the nation's tradition of studiousness.
Throughout the weekly, monthly, and quarterly competitions, Nguyen Nguyen Phu demonstrated outstanding competence, a strong mindset, and superior knowledge. It is known that Nguyen Nguyen Phu had previously achieved a near-perfect SAT score, placing him in the top 1% globally .

The High School for Gifted Students affiliated with the University of Education and its memorable milestones.
Like generations of students, Nguyen Nguyen Phu is always proud of the reputation and long history of achievements of Hanoi University of Education High School for Gifted Students.
The school's origins lie in the Special Mathematics Class, established by a decision of the Council of Ministers and located within the Department of Mathematics - Hanoi Pedagogical University since 1966.

After 58 years of formation and development with several expansions: in 1995, a specialized computer science class was added; in 2005, specialized classes in physics, chemistry, biology, and literature were added; and in 2009, the Hanoi Pedagogical University's Specialized High School was officially established under the Hanoi Pedagogical University, offering specialized classes in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, and English, along with non-specialized classes. In 2024, the school added a specialized geography class, becoming the specialized high school under the Ministry of Education and Training with the most comprehensive range of specialized subjects.
Along with the development of the country, the High School for Gifted Students affiliated with the University of Education has maintained its role and mission from the very beginning: discovering and nurturing talent.
Throughout the teaching and learning process, the number of medals and certificates of merit won by students of the High School for Gifted Students affiliated with the University of Education in regional and international Olympic competitions has consistently ranked among the top in the country. Every year, the school's percentage of students winning awards in the national excellent student selection exam is also among the top performers.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 78 students participating in the national excellent student selection exam, winning 66 awards, accounting for 84.6% (including 7 first prizes, 13 second prizes, 24 third prizes, and 22 consolation prizes). Notably, the school had 9 students participating in the selection exam for the International Olympic Team.

Not only in advanced education, in recent years, about 90-95% of students from the High School for Gifted Students affiliated with Hanoi University of Education have been admitted early to top universities in Vietnam and around the world; many students are top-ranked in entrance exams and top-ranked graduates of universities such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, etc.
The final round of the 24th season of the "Road to Olympia" competition took place at 8:30 AM today (October 13th). The school, family, teachers, and the Parent-Teacher Association have prepared the best conditions to cheer on Nguyen Nguyen Phu. With what he has shown in this program, he deserves to be the pride of the school and of Hanoi students.
