In the 2025 high school graduation exam, for the first time, technology and industry were included in the list of elective subjects. Of the 2,290 candidates nationwide who registered for the exam, only 4 students scored 10 points, including Le Trong Nguyen, a 12C3 student at Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted ( Ca Mau ).

The national average score for the subject of technology and industry was 5.79. Ca Mau had only 10 candidates registered for this subject, achieving an average score of 6.835 and ranked 4th in the country in terms of average score, just behind Quang Ninh, Dien Bien and Phu Tho.
The perfect score surprised Le Trong Nguyen and made him even more confident about his future direction. "At first, I was quite hesitant because this subject was completely new and there were no previous exam questions for reference. But this subject is suitable for the major I plan to study, and this year, police schools also recruit for this subject, so I decided to try it," Nguyen shared.
According to teachers at Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted, Nguyen is an excellent student, especially outstanding in science, engineering and technology subjects. Although he has never had a test to refer to, this male student has proactively reviewed based on practical knowledge and official documents.

The inclusion of technology and industry in the 2025 high school graduation exam is considered a pilot step in the educational reform roadmap, aiming towards practical skills and applied thinking. The number of candidates choosing to take the exam is still quite small, but rare 10s like Trong Nguyen show the potential for developing career-oriented subjects in the coming time.
