The Age of AI: When College Can Define a Role in a Digital Society

Technology is redrawing the global career map

Every admission season, hundreds of thousands of students and parents struggle with the familiar question: "What major should I study to avoid unemployment or have a good job?" But in the age of AI and digital transformation, this question is no longer enough. Students need to ask the question "What kind of people does society need and who can I become in that ecosystem?"

At the forum "Developing new impulses for the nation", Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman ofFPT Group affirmed: "To stand shoulder to shoulder with advanced nations, you need to win with knowledge and technology".

Under the impact of Resolution 57 on national human resource development, occupations are redefined in the direction of technology: AI & Data Science (the "golden key" in all fields - from finance, healthcare to logistics); Cybersecurity, cloud computing (increasingly important when the economy is fully digitalized); Digital Economy, Digital Marketing, Digital Management (traditional industries now require technological thinking and system understanding).

The problem of choosing a career becomes more intense with the development of AI and the need for national digital transformation.

Choosing a career based on emotion may no longer be suitable for the trend. To have an elite workforce with enough professional skills, solid technology and AI to meet the urgent needs of the market, a systematic training plan is needed.

"Creating and training a new workforce so that when the world is still worried that AI will take away jobs, Vietnam can rise up and become a global workforce in the field of management and artificial intelligence," Mr. Truong Gia Binh shared at the forum.

Training strategic human resources to master technology and AI is an urgent issue in the new era.

Choosing a career today is choosing a role in the next 10, 20 years.

Choosing a major is not only based on "hot majors" or "benchmarks", but must look further into the human resource trend in the next 5-10 years. With the development of AI as well as strong digital transformation in Vietnam, human resource training is not about following or learning but about applying and mastering this game.

In that context, FPT University (FPTU) is one of the pioneers in training associated with practice and trends. Not only technology majors but also Business Administration, Law, Communications, Languages, etc. at FPTU are also equipped with a solid technology foundation, learning in parallel with AI - so that students can "join" digital transformation from the classroom.

Chairman of the Board of FPT University Le Truong Tung affirmed: "We no longer train in the way we did 3-5 years ago. Students need to be equipped with the capacity to participate in national digital transformation, right from the classroom."

FPTU not only teaches skills, but also imparts technological skills and vision - teaching how to live, work and create in a volatile world.

FPT University quickly entered the race to train strategic human resources - a team fully equipped with technology and foreign language skills in all professions.

In May 2025, FPT University launched the first course of the Engineer 57 program to train a pioneering generation of human resources to master AI, operate digital systems, conduct public administration, and implement national digital transformation projects. This is a force that can accompany ministries, localities, and businesses on all technological fronts of the country.

In particular, from the 2025-2026 school year, FPTU will train in Digital Transformation - the first time in Vietnam. And not only that, all FPTU students, regardless of their major, will study Digital Transformation from September 2025, all equipped with AI - technology - foreign language foundations, to become global citizens in the digital economy.

With a comprehensive development orientation based on technology and AI, FPT University is gradually creating a workforce with global competitiveness - people who not only adapt to digital transformation, but can also lead that process. There, each student does not only study to graduate, but also to play an important role in the development of the country in the next 10, 20 years.

At FPT University, you don't just study the subject you love - you learn with AI, master technology, and prepare for the future.

From Information Technology, Business Administration, Communication Technology, Law to International Languages - every field of study integrates AI as a companion: helping you learn more creatively, faster, and more effectively. More importantly, you are trained in digital thinking - the foundation for adapting, thinking critically, and developing in the ever-changing world of technology.

FPTUwAI = FPTU with AI - where AI is not just a subject, but the foundation for future careers.
