(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Dr. Le Vu Ha is the youngest associate professor at the University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) to be appointed in 2024. Notably, Dr. Ha was previously the valedictorian of his graduating class at this university.
From the list of candidates who met the criteria for professor and associate professor titles in 2024 by the State Council of Professors, the University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) has officially appointed 2 professors and 12 associate professors.
Of the 12 new associate professors appointed in 2024 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, 10 are from the 80s generation.

The youngest person appointed as associate professor is Dr. Le Vu Ha, born in 1987, from the Department of Chemical Engineering. Notably, Dr. Le Vu Ha was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in 2010.
Mr. Ha won first prize in the Vietnam Young Scientists Award for lecturers in 2012; and supervised students in conducting a scientific research project that won first prize in the Vietnam Young Scientists Award for students in 2011.
Associate Professor Dr. Le Vu Ha's two main research directions include applying nanomaterials to remove water pollutants and developing environmentally friendly methods for transforming organic compounds.
Mr. Ha has completed four scientific research projects and has published 53 articles in prestigious domestic and international journals. These include 30 articles in SCIE journals, 5 articles in Scopus journals, and 18 articles in domestic journals.
Two professors from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have been appointed: Mr. Mai Thanh Phong, the university's rector, and Mr. Truong Tich Thien, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Applied Sciences.
Dr. Mai Thanh Phong was born in 1972 in Duc Tho, Ha Tinh province . To date, Associate Professor Dr. Mai Thanh Phong has published 145 scientific articles, 123 of which have been in prestigious international journals.
He was also granted two utility model patents and published three books for educational purposes.

Associate Professor Dr. Mai Thanh Phong's two main research areas include chemical reaction engineering (reaction kinetics, chemical thermodynamics) and materials for chemical engineering processes (separation, adsorption, catalysis).
Mr. Truong Tich Thien has completed 19 scientific research projects at various levels and published 158 articles in prestigious journals and proceedings both domestically and internationally.
