The Prime Minister assigned tasks to two new Deputy Prime Ministers and three Ministers.

On the morning of October 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh handed over the appointment decisions to two Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung and three Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, and Agriculture and Environment.

Previously, the Central Committee of the Party, the National Assembly , and the President had carried out the procedures and approvals to appoint five members of the Government for the 2021-2026 term.

Accordingly, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Mr. Ho Quoc Dung were appointed Deputy Prime Ministers. Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Tran Duc Thang was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Environment. Mr. Do Thanh Binh was appointed Minister of Home Affairs .

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the newly appointed Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers for the 2021-2026 term. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam, the National Assembly, and the President for their attention to strengthening the government apparatus and appointing additional leadership personnel for the 2021-2026 term.

According to the head of government, the Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers approved for appointment today are all well-trained officials with deep expertise in their respective fields, strong political and ideological convictions, and extensive work experience.

With nearly 40 years of experience as Minister of Home Affairs, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra has made significant contributions to the development of the organizational structure and the training of officials and civil servants, especially during the recent "reorganization of the country" and the operation of the two-tiered local government. This also marks the first time the Government has had a female Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung has 35 years of experience in public service, having been trained and grown up in a land rich in tradition. Before becoming the new Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, he made many important contributions to the development of Binh Dinh province.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung is a high-ranking Party leader with 43 years of service. He is well-trained and has extensive experience in diplomacy (state diplomacy, Party foreign affairs, Party work abroad) and strategic advisory work for the Central Party Committee; he consistently demonstrates exemplary conduct, dedication, and a commitment to the common good.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang has over 30 years of experience, holding various positions at both the central and local levels. Before returning to the central government, as the former Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, he contributed to making Hai Duong a high-growth province, ranking 11th nationwide in terms of economic size in 2024.

Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh is an official with nearly 40 years of experience, having held many important leadership positions in the former Kien Giang province before becoming Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee from January 2025. He has made significant contributions to transforming the former Kien Giang province into one of the key economic regions of the Mekong Delta.

The workload is very heavy, and the requirements are higher.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that this term of the Government is extremely special, with many difficulties and challenges in almost all areas. The domestic, regional, and global situations are volatile, complex, and unpredictable. The workload is enormous, becoming heavier each year, with higher demands, while there are many changes in the Government's leadership and members.

The Prime Minister affirmed that there is not much time left until the end of the year, the volume of work to be completed remains very large, requiring high quality and timely progress, and the tasks facing the Government remain extremely challenging.

In particular, priorities include promoting growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring the major balances of the economy. The goal is to achieve GDP growth of 8.3-8.5% in 2025 and sustainable double-digit growth in the years to come...
