Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân16/11/2024

Vietnam's regular invitations to G20 conferences and its acceptance of this G20 Summit demonstrate that the issues discussed align with Vietnam's committed goals.

In the early morning of November 16th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, departed Hanoi to attend the G20 Summit; conduct several bilateral activities in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 16th to 19th at the invitation of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, G20 Chairman in 2024 Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife; and pay an official visit to the Dominican Republic from November 19th to 21st at the invitation of the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona and his wife.

This is the fifth time Vietnam has been invited to attend a G20 summit and the first time a key Vietnamese leader has visited the Dominican Republic.

The official delegation accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife Le Thi Bich Tran on their working trip included: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister and Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung; Deputy Minister of National Defense, Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam; Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan; Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; and leaders from several ministries, sectors, and localities.

The 19th G20 Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the theme "Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet," will prioritize discussions on combating poverty, sustainable development, energy transition, and reforming global governance institutions.

Vietnam's frequent invitations to G20 conferences in recent years, and its acceptance of this G20 Summit invitation, demonstrate that the issues discussed align with Vietnam's committed goals. This not only affirms Vietnam's increasingly enhanced role and position in the international and regional arena but also creates opportunities to promote trade, investment, and cooperation with member countries.

In 2024, Vietnam and Brazil celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. This visit by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh contributes to further strengthening the Vietnam-Brazil Comprehensive Partnership, setting the direction for promoting bilateral cooperation to a new level in the future.

For the Dominican Republic, the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh demonstrates Vietnam's appreciation and desire to further strengthen and deepen the good relationship of solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and the Dominican Republic, leading up to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
