Prime Minister hands over decision to appoint VTV General Director Nguyen Thanh Lam

On the afternoon of November 2, at the headquarters of Vietnam Television (VTV), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the decision to appoint Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television.

The term of appointment is 5 years. The decision takes effect from November 1, 2024.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam and affirmed that his appointment as General Director of Vietnam Television was appropriate in the current context.

The Prime Minister said that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam has spent 20 years working in television, including 18 years with VTV.

The Head of Government stated that the country is entering a new era - an era of national growth. There must be new ways of doing things and new thinking because resources originate from thinking, motivation originates from innovation, and strength originates from the people.

The Prime Minister requested VTV to unite and be unified within the Party Committee, key leaders, Party members, cadres and employees; to promote the strength of the collective; to review what is good and promote it, what is not good and overcome it, to remove obstacles and overcome difficulties.

VTV must closely coordinate with press agencies under the management of the Government and the direction of the Central Propaganda Department to promote internal and external strength.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam expressed his honor and emotion when Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented him with the decision to appoint him as General Director of Vietnam Television.

Mr. Lam affirmed that this is a great honor but also a noble responsibility entrusted by the Party and State leaders and the collective of VTV journalists.

VTV General Director believes that in the new era, the era of national growth, the collective of Vietnamese television workers also needs new vitality and creative inspiration along with strong political will to both protect and spread the nation's good cultural and ideological values ​​in both real and digital space, and to reflect and contribute to leading the changes and transformations of the political system, of businesses and more than 100 million Vietnamese people in the face of new opportunities, fortunes and challenges.
