At the conference, representatives of state management agencies, experts, and VietinBank HCMC discussed and shared about financial technology (Fintech), preparing the ecosystem to be ready to operate the International Financial Center and exploit the giant data system for the financial industry. At the same time, digital transformation solutions for the healthcare and education sectors in HCMC were proposed.
According to Ms. Do Thi Bich Mai, Permanent Deputy Director of VietinBank's operations division, in 2025, VietinBank has cooperated with Oracle Vietnam Co., Ltd. and OVI Technology Joint Stock Company to build solutions, consult, and implement digital transformation for businesses in Vietnam. In particular, the program is for the healthcare and education sectors with a specialized solution set, integrating many modern technologies, applying artificial intelligence (AI) to manage smart hospital operations, data management, cloud computing... and many other activities.
“The cooperation between VietinBank and the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, along with consultation from Fintech experts, will open up opportunities to find experimental mechanisms (Sandbox), perfect the legal framework and develop a digital asset data platform. This is a prerequisite step to build a sustainable digital transformation ecosystem, serving the people and creating momentum to form an International Financial Center,” said Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center.
Up to now, VietinBank has sponsored more than 4,900 billion VND for health and education nationwide. In addition, it also supports and provides preferential loans to build facilities and purchase equipment to improve the quality of educational and medical facilities, promoting socio-economic development in Vietnam.
Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh said that the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen application is a platform developed and operated by the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, which has reached more than 6 million interactions. Most of the city's residents are interested in the fields of health and education. The cooperation with VietinBank to deploy digital solutions is expected to serve people better in payment or use of social security services.
