Promoting development cooperation between Ninh Binh province and the Netherlands Senior Experts Organization

On the morning of October 8th, a conference was held at the headquarters of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and Provincial People's Council to exchange ideas, hold dialogues, and promote cooperation and development between Ninh Binh province and the delegation from the Netherlands Senior Experts Organization.

Attending the conference were Comrade Bui Hoang Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Sven Dekker, National Coordinator, Head of the Working Group; leaders of the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, and a number of provincial departments and agencies.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Bui Hoang Ha, respectfully thanked the delegation from the Netherlands' Senior Experts Organization (PUM) for visiting and working with Ninh Binh province at the invitation of Mr. Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council, during his working trip to the Netherlands and meeting with PUM in May 2024.

Promoting cooperation and development between Ninh Binh province and the Netherlands Senior Experts Organization. — Comrade Bui Hoang Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, delivered a speech at the conference.

Providing an overview of the history, socio-economic development, and potential of Ninh Binh province, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: Ninh Binh province has consistently and effectively implemented the "Green and Sustainable" economic development orientation, taking the preservation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage values and the fine traditions of the people of the ancient capital as resources and driving forces for development; prioritizing the development of clean, environmentally friendly industries; organic and circular agricultural production; promoting the development of services, especially sustainable tourism. Developing culture and society comprehensively; effectively implementing social welfare policies. Ninh Binh is a safe destination, building trust among tourists and investors.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council stated: Currently, Ninh Binh is focusing on implementing strategic goals and tasks according to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister (Decision No. 218/QD-TTg dated March 4, 2024), namely: To leverage all potential, advantages, resources, and driving forces to bring about rapid and sustainable development for Ninh Binh province, basically achieving the criteria by 2030 and becoming a centrally-governed city by 2035 with the characteristics of a millennium heritage city and a creative city; a major center with high brand value in tourism, cultural industry, and heritage economy for the whole country and the Asia- Pacific region; a leading center in the country for modern transportation mechanical industry; and a center for innovation and entrepreneurship for the southern provinces of the Red River Delta. A solid foundation for national defense and security. Building a strong, clean, and comprehensive Party and political system; developing the economy; a prosperous society; and a happy people.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council expressed his hope that the Netherlands Senior Experts Organization would exchange information and engage in dialogue to gain more understanding of each other, thereby promoting practical cooperation between Ninh Binh province and the Netherlands Senior Experts Organization in exploring the investment environment, potential support and cooperation in implementing projects, and introducing the local economic potential and desired areas of cooperation and support in the future.

National Coordinator Sven Dekker expressed his pleasure at visiting and working in Ninh Binh. This is his first official visit to Ninh Binh province. Introducing some general information about the PUM organization, Mr. Sven Dekker said: PUM was established in 1978 by the Dutch Employers' and Industrialists' Association, with over 2,000 senior experts in various fields to support and promote entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging markets. Mr. Sven Dekker emphasized that the delegation's visit aimed to exchange and share information, through which the PUM organization hopes to support Ninh Binh in developing areas where the province has needs. The PUM organization will commit to accompanying and advising Ninh Binh on specific projects, ensuring effective cooperation and support.

At the conference, both sides shared insights on issues such as: experiences in implementing several projects that the PUM organization has successfully collaborated on with some localities in Vietnam; solutions for managing socio-economic development, especially in the areas of circular economy and green economy; solutions for preventing and combating climate change, saltwater intrusion, reforestation, and developing the marine economy in Kim Son district; issues related to human resource management and organization, especially vocational training for the tourism industry; experiences in wastewater treatment and environmental protection during the construction of the future Hoa Lu city; support for the development of organic agriculture; beekeeping techniques and management for the future development of this industry…

Organizing exchanges and dialogues between Ninh Binh province and the Netherlands Senior Experts Organization is one of the opportunities to expand cooperation in various fields, contributing to the goal of making Ninh Binh a centrally-governed city by 2035, characterized as a millennium heritage city and a creative city.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leadership, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presented the delegation with a commemorative gift, a product characteristic of Ninh Binh's culture.
