Mr. Do Van Chung, Head of the Livestock and Veterinary Sub-Department (Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment), said that the Department had directed the Sub-Department to issue Official Letter No. 296/CNTY-TY dated November 6, 2025, to the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones, requesting them to register their needs for disinfectants after the storms.

Currently, the Sub-Department is compiling and advising on the allocation of chemicals to localities to implement the "Month of General Sanitation, Disinfection and Sterilization, Phase 2/2025". To date, more than 10,788 liters of chemicals have been distributed, ensuring sufficient supplies for communes and wards to carry out sanitation and disinfection of livestock facilities.
Alongside disinfection efforts, the Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine is also implementing the second vaccination campaign of 2025, with a total of 97,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for buffaloes and cattle, nearly 47,000 doses of lumpy skin disease vaccine, and over 873,000 doses of avian influenza vaccine.
According to the head of the Quang Ngai Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, the biggest advantage is that the province has provided timely guidance, helping localities to implement disease prevention and control measures synchronously. People are also increasingly raising their awareness of vaccination and hygiene in livestock facilities. Vaccines and chemicals are adequately supplied, meeting the requirements for disease prevention.
However, the prolonged cold and rainy weather reduces the resistance of livestock, creating conditions for infectious diseases to arise. After the merger, some communes and wards have not yet allocated enough veterinary personnel, so the work of advising and implementing disease prevention and control at the grassroots level is still limited.
Therefore, the Department advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct localities to allocate sufficient veterinary personnel, utilize contingency funds for disease prevention and control, conduct regular inspections and supervision, and improve coordination between the Sub-Department and communes/wards to effectively implement vaccination and disease prevention and control, especially in conditions of prolonged cold and rainy weather.
