The Bang Phuc area (Dong Phuc commune) has 7 villages that cultivate and process Shan Tuyet tea, with over 316 hectares currently yielding harvests. According to the Northern Mountainous Region Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Science and Technology, this area currently has 740 ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees, with the highest concentration in Phieng Phung village, boasting over 400 trees.
The average age of the ancient tea trees here is about 97 years, many are over 100 years old, and the youngest is 65 years old. Scientific research shows that the Shan Tuyet tea population in the Bang Phuc area has outstanding value in terms of biology, historical formation, culture, and potential for economic development linked to tourism.
