Coach Philippe Troussier has narrowed down the Vietnam national team's roster to 30 players in preparation for the friendly match against Syria during the FIFA Days in June 2023. He retained 21 players from the match against Hong Kong (China), and added 6 players from the Vietnam national team and 3 players from the U23 team.

Syria's coach explains why they chose the Vietnamese national team for a friendly match.

The Syrian national team will only play one friendly match during the FIFA Days in June and has chosen Vietnam as their opponent. Syria declined to play against African teams in order to face Vietnam.

Coach Hector Cuper shared the reason on the Syrian Football Federation's website: "Friendly matches in June are often difficult. Not many teams want to play at this time, as their players need rest after a demanding season. Therefore, when we learned that Vietnam wanted a friendly match and were ready to field their strongest team, we immediately chose them."

Coach Hector Cuper said Syria wants to field its strongest team against Vietnam and will assess the players' integration during the short preparation period.

Khanh Hoa FC is in trouble as its sponsor withdraws.

Khánh Hòa FC is facing significant financial difficulties due to its main sponsor, Cam Ranh International Real Estate Joint Stock Company, ceasing sponsorship at the beginning of the 2023 season. However, the team is still supported by Cam Ranh KN Company Limited and Khánh Hòa Bird's Nest Company Limited.

Provincial leaders and relevant departments have held numerous meetings to find solutions to help Khanh Hoa Club survive, but without the desired results. Khanh Hoa Sport Joint Stock Company - the managing entity of Khanh Hoa Club - has requested a reduction in the deadline for paying corporate tax due to its current financial difficulties.

The director of Khanh Hoa Sport Joint Stock Company stated that they have not yet been able to find a new sponsor and do not have enough funds to continue sponsoring for the remainder of the 2023 season.
