Continuing its activities within the framework of the "Anti-Online Fraud 2025" campaign, implemented by TikTok in collaboration with A05 - Ministry of Public Security and the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA), the platform has introduced a series of communication videos to help users better identify common forms of fraud.
In this video series, creators Con Cò Đây (Ms. Hồng Thơ), Đặng Thu Hà, and Huy NL recreate familiar online scams that users easily encounter daily, from calls claiming large prize winnings, "online lovers" painting a picture of a life-changing opportunity, to job offers with unrealistic salaries. The videos also incorporate messages of digital vigilance, encouraging users to verify information, avoid risks, and contribute to protecting the community.
The common thread among these three videos is that they all exploit the victim's weakness – fleeting excitement. The perpetrators always paint a picture of overwhelming benefits (money, love, status), causing victims to be swept away by their emotions and forget the most important step: verifying the authenticity.
The creators' relatable and natural performances helped the warning message spread powerfully, garnering billions of views and hundreds of thousands of interactions and shares across the platform.
Beyond simply exposing sophisticated scams that shock viewers, content creators cleverly incorporate fraud prevention skills, enabling the online community to equip themselves with a shield.
That's the 3P formula (Pause - Prevent - Protect) - a "golden" rule that creators repeatedly mention like a mantra for all internet users to memorize.
Instead of letting emotions guide them, users need to develop the habit of pausing – carefully checking before accepting any attractive offers, proactively preventing risks by protecting personal information, and being ready to protect the community by reporting violating accounts.
The reach of this message wasn't limited to the videos of the three content creators mentioned above; it exploded through the hashtag #OnlineScam on TikTok. The campaign quickly became a positive trend, where users didn't hesitate to share their own real-life experiences, turning stories of "losing money unfairly" into valuable cautionary tales for the community.
A multitude of videos, along with billions of views and lively discussions, are the clearest evidence of internet users' particular concern for online safety.
Through this campaign, TikTok has once again affirmed its strong commitment to creating a civilized digital environment. The platform not only acts as a bridge for disseminating information but also intervenes directly with practical technological solutions such as sending automatic alerts, reviewing and displaying safety guidance information as soon as users search for keywords related to scams, thereby helping users stay proactive against invisible traps in cyberspace.
In 2025, TikTok will continue to roll out in-app scam warnings to users nationwide. This also marks the first time TikTok has simultaneously sent online scam alerts directly to users on the platform, aiming to continuously remind users of potential risks and help them verify information before sharing personal data or interacting with unverified content.
The implementation of in-app alerts is part of TikTok's effort to enhance users' self-protection capabilities through interactive content touchpoints.
