After more than 5 hours of continuous efforts, Chinese search and rescue forces pulled the victim out of the rubble. The woman had been trapped for nearly 60 hours but still maintained stable vital signs when rescued.
This is the first victim rescued by the Chinese Search and Rescue Team since they arrived in Mandalay, an area heavily affected by the earthquake that occurred on March 28.
On the morning of March 30, another rescue team from Yunnan, China also rescued a survivor in the capital Nay Pyi Taw, one of the places most seriously affected by the earthquake.
Currently, countries in the region as well as around the world are quickly deploying many measures to support Myanmar after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake took the lives of more than 1,700 people and left hundreds of others injured or missing.
