At the conference, Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, provided information and answered questions regarding the streamlining of the Sangha's organizational structure.
Accordingly, the Church has also streamlined its organizational system to work alongside the nation, achieving efficiency and effectiveness in order to best serve monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.
According to Venerable Thich Duc Thien, the Buddhist Sangha will initially consider all opinions and will develop a roadmap to implement the streamlining plan in the best possible way.
Following the Buddhist Association's meetings in the southern and northern provinces, the Association will issue specific written guidelines, and in this spirit, there will be no Buddhist delegate congresses at the district level.
The Executive Council is expected to issue official guidelines by the end of March, in line with a streamlined, two-tiered model aimed at increasing efficiency and enhancing the role of Church administration.
Also at the conference, Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Vice Dharma Chief and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, stated that the Sangha is responding to the streamlining policy of the State, and there will no longer be district-level Sangha organizations; instead, there will be representatives at the ward and commune levels for easier management.
