General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attends the opening of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State attended the opening session of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly at 8:00 a.m. on January 15.

At 7:30 a.m. earlier, the National Assembly held a preparatory session to approve the agenda for the 5th extraordinary session. Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh presented the National Assembly Standing Committee's report on the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang province, from his duties as a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

According to the meeting agenda, this morning, delegates listened to the Report on explanation, acceptance, and revision of the draft Land Law (amended) and discussed this content. At the end of the morning session, the submitting agency and the agency in charge of the review coordinated to explain and clarify a number of issues raised by delegates.

In the afternoon, the National Assembly listened to the report explaining, accepting and discussing the content with different opinions of the draft Law on Credit Institutions, before the submitting and reviewing agencies coordinated to explain and clarify.

At the 5th extraordinary session lasting three days (January 15-18, January 17 break), the National Assembly will also consider and approve a draft Resolution on a number of specific mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles, speed up the implementation of National Target Programs; supplement the Medium-term Public Investment Plan of central budget capital for the period 2021-2025 from the general reserve source corresponding to the increased central budget revenue in 2022 for public investment tasks and projects; and supplement the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for Vietnam Electricity Group from the reserve source of the Medium-term Public Investment Plan.
