General Secretary To Lam visits Bulgaria's Samel-90 defense industry company

The Samel-90 defense industry company, headquartered in Samokov, about 60 km from the capital Sofia, is an electronics and defense enterprise established in 1964 with the initial task of supplying electronic communication equipment to the Bulgarian Army, later expanding to civilian products. Today, Samel-90 is considered a leading Bulgarian defense enterprise in the field of military electronics and communication equipment. Company representatives presented advanced defense technologies in the fields of radar surveillance, drone suppression technology, and the manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles for communication purposes.

Here, President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev also directly introduced General Secretary To Lam to Bulgaria's defense industry, emphasizing the capabilities and key products of the Samel-90 defense industry company.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Bulgaria's defense industry and the capabilities of Samel 90 Company with its proven quality products.

The General Secretary stated that Vietnam advocates building and developing a proactive, self-reliant, self-strengthening, dual-use, and modern defense industry, making it a spearhead of the national industry to protect independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; and advocates multilateralism, diversification, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with all partners, including Bulgaria.

Building on the foundation of the traditionally good friendship and the newly established Vietnam-Bulgaria Strategic Partnership, defense relations and defense industry cooperation play an important role in the overall relationship between the two countries. General Secretary To Lam expressed his desire to share experiences and promote defense cooperation in general and defense industry cooperation in particular between the two countries in the coming time; cooperation in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and remote sensing electronic equipment…

Given Samel-90 Company's experience and capabilities, the General Secretary suggested that the company exchange information and coordinate with relevant agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and Vietnamese defense enterprises in specific areas, in accordance with the needs and capabilities of each side.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party, State, and Government of Vietnam are ready to support and create favorable conditions for Samel-90 Company and other reputable Bulgarian defense industry enterprises to exchange information with Vietnamese defense industry enterprises to introduce products, explore areas of cooperation suitable to the needs and capabilities of both countries, and participate in exhibiting products at the International Defense Exhibition in Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam expressed confidence that, building on the strategic partnership, defense industry cooperation between the two countries in general, and between Bulgaria's Samel-90 defense industry company and Vietnam's defense industry partners in particular, will see new developments, becoming increasingly substantive and effective.
