NDO - On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), on the morning of December 21, in Gia Loc district, the General Department of Logistics (Ministry of National Defense) organized the inauguration and handover ceremony of a "House of Gratitude" to Mrs. Pham Thi Boi, the wife of a fallen soldier, residing in An Cu 2 village, Quang Duc commune, Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province.


Major General Nguyen Manh Hung, Head of Political Affairs , General Department of Logistics, attended and presided over the handover ceremony. Also present were Colonel Nguyen Ba Lich, Deputy Head of Political Affairs, General Department of Logistics; representatives from functional agencies of the General Department of Logistics; and representatives from the local Party committee and government.

Mrs. Pham Thi Boi is the wife of martyr Pham Dang Thu, who sacrificed his life in the resistance war against the US in the B battlefield. Currently, Mrs. Boi is elderly, in poor health, and facing difficulties with housing; her house is dilapidated, leaky, and damaged, with water seeping in whenever it rains.

The total cost of building the house of gratitude was nearly 300 million VND, of which the General Department of Logistics contributed 80 million VND from the "Showing Gratitude and Repaying Kindness" Fund, contributed by officers, soldiers, staff, and workers within the General Department, along with funds from the family, assistance from neighbors, and local agencies, departments, and organizations to build the house of gratitude for Mrs. Pham Thi Boi's family.

After more than two months of construction, the single-story house, built with brick walls, a corrugated iron roof, and tiled floors, with a total usable area of ​​70m² (including a living room, a prayer room, and two bedrooms) and fully equipped with amenities and a self-contained bathroom, has been completed and put into use, ensuring timely completion and good quality.

He emphasized: Supporting the construction of this house of gratitude for Mrs. Pham Thi Boi's family is a meaningful act, a profound expression of gratitude from officers, soldiers, and workers in the General Department of Logistics to policy beneficiary families and those who have contributed to the revolution. It serves as encouragement and motivation for Mrs. Pham Thi Boi's family to improve their living conditions, overcome difficulties, and strive for a better life.

Furthermore, he expressed his wish that the family would continue to uphold revolutionary traditions, build a more prosperous and happy family, and contribute to building a more developed, civilized, and beautiful homeland. He also expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, government, departments, and local organizations for their active and close cooperation in organizing the construction of the "House of Compassion" for Ms. Pham Thi Boi's family, ensuring the project was completed on schedule, with high quality, and handed over as planned.
