Crowds of foreign tourists come to Ho Chi Minh City to 'hunt' for clothes and cosmetics
ZNews noted that after Black Friday, many fashion brands at shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City continued to have "big sales" at the end of the year.

Nguyen Trai Street (Ben Thanh Ward), home to more than 50 local fashion brands such as Mieu, Cara Club, Secodee, Mys.P..., hangs signs offering discounts and launching new collections. This is also a familiar shopping occasion for many international visitors to Vietnam. Over the years, the city has emerged as a "shopping paradise" with many young, affordable local brands.
"My clothing bill totaled 30 million VND, exceeding my expectations, I had to buy an extra suitcase to store it," said Himari (27 years old), a Japanese tourist. "My purpose of traveling is shopping. Prices in Ho Chi Minh City are almost half cheaper than in Thailand, Singapore and Japan, and even cheaper when on sale. The quality is not inferior. Local Thai brand T-shirts cost 800-1,000 baht/piece (about 650,000-800,000 VND), for that price in Vietnam I can buy 2-3 pieces," said Himari.
Coming to Ho Chi Minh City for tourism and shopping, Ji-ah (26 years old, Korean tourist) thinks this is a good opportunity to catch the "crash floor" sale of branded and local brands. She took the opportunity to buy clothes and cosmetics for herself and as gifts for relatives. Having spent more than ten million VND on Adidas, H&M, HLA..., she has no intention of stopping.
Egg prices increase sharply, pork... 'restless'
Tien Phong newspaper reported that at many retail markets in Ho Chi Minh City, there are almost no eggs priced below VND3,000/egg. At Khu Pho 2 market (Ho Hoc Lam street), chicken eggs cost from VND34,000 to VND36,000/dozen, depending on size; and duck eggs cost from VND36,000 to VND38,000/dozen.

According to retailers, the price of chicken eggs has increased nearly 3 times compared to the time when egg prices "hit rock bottom" in mid-2025, with prices ranging from only 13,000 - 14,000 VND/dozen (equivalent to 1,300 - 1,400 VND/egg). Meanwhile, the price of duck eggs in supermarkets has also increased compared to early November. For example, duck eggs and V.Food chicken eggs are priced at 38,900 VND and 44,000 VND/pack, respectively, Ba Huan black chicken eggs are 45,700 VND/pack, San Ha herbal chicken eggs are 35,000 VND/pack...
According to the Southeast Livestock Association, egg prices have remained low for many months, causing farmers to suffer prolonged losses. Many farms have had to reduce their flocks or suspend their barns. Heavy rains and floods in many provinces have damaged barns, forcing some households to sell laying hens for meat to reduce risks. The association believes that prolonged flock reduction, combined with disruptions in transportation due to heavy rains and floods, are the direct causes of the sharp increase in egg prices.
Not only egg prices have increased, but pig prices have also increased continuously in recent days, causing retail prices to increase slightly by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg. Currently, pig prices in the South Central, Southeast and Southwest regions have recorded an increase of 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg, with common transaction prices at 57,000 - 59,000 VND/kg.
