Summary and award ceremony of the short story writing contest "Imprints of homeland and people of Phu Tho - Yen Bai"

On December 14th, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the short story writing contest on the Literature and Arts Magazine of the three provinces of Phu Tho, Yen Bai , and Lao Cai, with the theme "The Imprint of the Homeland and People of Phu Tho - Yen Bai - Lao Cai," Round III, Year 3.

Representatives from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department presented the first prize to author Vu Huyen Trang ( Phu Tho ).

The third round of the third annual short story writing competition, themed “The Imprint of Homeland and People of Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai, ” was launched in December 2023. By October 30, 2024, the organizing committee had received 86 entries from 42 authors, including professional and amateur writers and prose writers from the three provinces. Specifically, Phu Tho contributed 32 entries from 15 authors, Yen Bai 28 entries from 16 authors, and Lao Cai 26 entries from 15 authors.

Overall, the works delve into the beauty of the local land and people, reflecting the realities of life, bearing the strong imprint of the homeland and region, conveying messages about family, friendship, and love, vividly and profoundly addressing the interests of readers. Many works are praised for their tight plots, sharp writing style, clear meaning, effective exploration of character emotions, and engaging storytelling, reflecting the dedication and creative efforts of the authors.

The delegates presented certificates to the authors who received the Encouragement Award.

The organizing committee and the judging panel selected 11 outstanding works and awarded 1 First Prize to author Vu Huyen Trang (Phu Tho) for the work "Poisoning", 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 5 Consolation Prizes.

The third round of the third annual "Footprints of the Homeland and People of Phu Tho - Yen Bai - Lao Cai" short story writing competition is a practical activity aimed at strengthening the exchange, learning, and solidarity among artists and writers; contributing to improving the quality of the literary magazines of each province, creating conditions to inspire creativity, and discovering talent in the field of literature among literature lovers in the three provinces of Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai.
