A delegation from the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) in Da Nang , led by Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang, recently extended congratulations on Buddha's Birthday and offered alms to the monks at Tam Bao Pagoda, Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City, for the Vesak Great Celebration 2568-2024.

Here, the delegation performed rituals to honor the Three Jewels in celebration of the Triple Vesak Festival, commemorating three significant events: the birth of the Bodhisattva, the enlightenment of the Buddha, and the passing into Nirvana. The delegation offered lanterns and prayed for national peace and prosperity, world peace, and the well-being of all sentient beings.

Afterwards, Venerable Thich Phap Hieu, abbot of Tam Bao Pagoda, imparted the Three Refuges and Five Precepts, and a Lao monk guided the recitation of the prayer for the offering of the four necessities in Pali. The ceremony took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere, with the chanting of scriptures and hymns resounding, bestowing blessings and good fortune upon the members of the delegation and their families, praying for peace and happiness.

On behalf of the monks, Venerable Thich Phap Hieu performed the traditional ritual of tying threads around wrists and presented a statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni attaining enlightenment to Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang and the staff of the Consulate.
