Speaking to reporters, Zelensky said a full agreement was being developed and that it would be a "comprehensive, large-scale agreement" reflecting "the American vision." However, the new version would exclude US involvement in Ukraine's nuclear power plants – a proposal put forward last week by US President Donald Trump.
Earlier, on March 20, President Trump announced that an agreement on rare earth minerals with Ukraine would soon be signed.
Initially, the US and Ukraine planned to sign a minerals agreement at the end of February, but this was not possible due to a heated debate between President Trump and President Zelensky at the White House. Later, the two sides met again and agreed on a revised version as mentioned above.
Regarding the negotiations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, over the past three days, President Zelensky stated that territorial issues were not on the agenda of the talks between Ukraine and the United States.
