The gold medal-winning performance - the song and dance medley "The First Communist - Our Party, the Sun is High" was chosen to be performed at the closing night.
The contest is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committees of Hai Phong City, Tuyen Quang Province and Bac Ninh Province, taking place from August 4 to 9.
The contest attracted about 1,500 singers, actors, and propagandists from 24 mobile propaganda art troupes from localities across the country.
According to the rules, each unit will create a comprehensive art program with high propaganda and artistic value, maximum duration 35 minutes, minimum 5 performances.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 27 gold medals and 52 silver medals to outstanding performances. The Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 26 individuals with outstanding achievements participating in the contest. With impressive achievements in this contest, Can Tho City won the top position, just behind the 3 contest hosting units.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City congratulated artists and actors on the closing night of the competition in Hai Phong City.
Can Tho City participated in the contest with 5 performances. As a result, 4 performances were awarded medals: 1 gold medal (song and dance medley “The First Communist - Our Party, the Sun is High”); 3 silver medals (traditional song “River Market”; scenic song “Confession of the River” and song and dance medley “The Country Rises - Can Tho Aspires to Reach Far”).
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phu, Director of the Can Tho City Culture and Arts Center, was awarded a certificate of merit by the Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The contest program of Can Tho City unit has strong cultural identity of river delta and characteristics of Can Tho City.
Within the framework of the competition, the Can Tho City delegation participated in 4 nights of propaganda performances to serve the people in Tuyen Quang province and Hai Phong city, in which they played the role of performance commander in the performance on August 5 in Ha Giang 1 ward, Tuyen Quang province.
