Affirming the commitment of Ho Chi Minh City

"Southeast Research and Innovation Day" and "7th Annual SHTP International Conference" are expected to be the convergence of knowledge, technology and aspirations for developing a green - smart - sustainable Vietnam.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Head of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, affirmed that from a vacant land more than 20 years ago, SHTP has now become a gathering place for hundreds of high-tech enterprises, with a production value of tens of billions of USD. At the same time, this place is also a center for attracting strategic investment in the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robots, and clean energy.

However, Professor Phung also acknowledged that the challenges ahead are still great, including: balancing economic growth and environmental protection; mobilizing public-private-international resources for green projects; and practical application of strategic technologies such as AI, blockchain, and biomaterials to achieve the Net Zero target.

"This conference is not only an opportunity to share knowledge but also a call to action, connecting domestic and international intelligence and resources, turning challenges into opportunities to build SHTP into a model of sustainable development," Mr. Phung added.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho stated that in the context of globalization and the 4th industrial revolution, digital transformation and green transformation are becoming two parallel pillars, shaping the competitiveness of each country and city. As the largest economic center in the country, Ho Chi Minh City is pioneering the implementation of these orientations, in which SHTP plays a key driving role, a place where technology, intelligence and creativity converge.

"The creative ideas and practical solutions shared at the conference not only contribute to building a development strategy for SHTP but also spread awareness and encourage the business community to pioneer in applying digital technology and green development. The conference also strongly affirms Ho Chi Minh City's commitment to promoting public-private-international cooperation, mobilizing technological, financial and intellectual resources to realize sustainable development goals," Mr. Nguyen Van Tho emphasized.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested that SHTP should proactively advise the city in effectively implementing the Project "Dual transformation: Digital transformation - Green transformation of the High-tech Park towards the first Net Zero model in the country".
