Ho Chi Minh City organizes a series of events to meet overseas Vietnamese to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025

On the afternoon of January 13, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City issued a press release about a series of events to meet, visit, and wish a Happy New Year to outstanding overseas Vietnamese representatives in the city on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, this year the program to meet overseas Vietnamese to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City will last for 3 days, including a series of rich and diverse events.

This is an annual event for the overseas Vietnamese community related to Ho Chi Minh City. Through this, it shows the affection and deep concern of the city leaders for the overseas Vietnamese community returning to celebrate Tet in the area.

On this occasion, the city leaders visited and communicated with the overseas Vietnamese community about the Party's policies and the State's laws on outstanding achievements in the past year and the socio-economic development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 and the following years.

As planned, on January 17, 2025, a delegation of outstanding overseas Vietnamese (estimated to be 50 people) will offer incense to the heroic martyrs and visit the Cu Chi tunnels. After that, the delegation will participate in local connection activities and cultural and social activities, showing gratitude in the area.

On January 18, 2025, the Organizing Committee will hold a flower offering ceremony for President Ho Chi Minh at the President Ho Chi Minh Statue in front of the City People's Committee Headquarters. After that, the city leaders will meet with outstanding overseas Vietnamese representatives and discuss the "Policy Project to effectively promote remittance resources in Ho Chi Minh City from now until 2030" at the City People's Committee Headquarters.

The talk show “Overseas Vietnamese Community in Ho Chi Minh City – Welcome Spring 2025” will take place on the same day at the City Television Studio. On this occasion, the delegation of outstanding overseas Vietnamese will visit the Saigon – Gia Dinh Special Forces Museum (Ho Chi Minh City).

The official program "Meeting of Overseas Vietnamese to Celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025" will take place on the evening of January 18 and will be broadcast live by City Television (HTV).

Within the framework of the meeting program, events also took place, such as: Exhibition of images of Ho Chi Minh City's achievements in 2024, including typical activities and positive contributions of overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City; Program to visit and wish a happy new year to a number of outstanding overseas Vietnamese delegates; overseas Vietnamese families in the city on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

In addition, there will also be activities of the European Ladies Ao Dai Charity Fund; cultural and charity activities in Ho Chi Minh City and Ben Tre province on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025.

This is an activity to support overseas Vietnamese in maintaining and promoting national cultural identity and traditions and carrying out social and charitable activities in Vietnam in general and in Ho Chi Minh City in particular. Thereby, creating a connection between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland.
