All 11 socio-economic indicators met or exceeded the set targets.
In 2024, Nam Dinh City achieved remarkable results despite facing numerous challenges, including the reorganization and merger of My Loc district into Nam Dinh City and the impact of Typhoon No. 3. The Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and the Standing Board of the City Party Committee demonstrated unity and consensus in leading and directing the implementation of political tasks and socio-economic development.
Regarding Party building work, the City Party Committee has focused on effectively revising and supplementing working regulations, perfecting the planning of leadership and management personnel, and establishing Military Party Branches in wards and communes according to the Central Committee's guidelines. Inspection and supervision activities have also been implemented according to plan, contributing to increased transparency and efficiency in management.

In the economic field, the city has maintained stability and achieved significant development. All 11 socio-economic indicators met or exceeded the set targets. The economic structure continued to shift strongly towards industry, trade, and services. State budget revenue in the area reached VND 4,473 billion, of which revenue from the local economy was VND 2,445 billion, reaching 148% of the provincial target. The value of industrial production managed by the city increased by 14.02% compared to the same period last year.
The city also noted remarkable progress in urban planning, investment, construction, and renovation. Key projects were accelerated, contributing to an increasingly civilized and modern urban landscape. Simultaneously, the development of advanced and model new rural areas continued to be implemented extensively, bringing positive changes to suburban areas.
In terms of culture and society, the city has effectively implemented social welfare policies, ensuring the material and spiritual well-being of its citizens. Education, healthcare, and cultural activities have been prioritized and developed, contributing to an improved quality of life for the people.
Political security and social order in the city have been maintained, especially in achieving 100% of the military recruitment target. This is evidence of the close coordination between functional forces and local authorities.
The conference also highly appreciated the leadership role of grassroots Party organizations. Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Nam Dinh City Party Committee, presented Certificates of Commendation to outstanding Party organizations over the past year, affirming the important contributions of these units to the overall development of the city.
Delivering a speech at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Chinh acknowledged and praised the efforts and achievements of the Party Committee, government, and people of Nam Dinh City in 2024.
Six major task groups and solutions for 2025.
In 2025, Comrade Le Quoc Chinh emphasized that the city needs to focus on six major groups of tasks and solutions to achieve its development goals. These include continuing to improve Party building and rectification, enhancing the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and Party members, especially leaders and managers. More solutions are needed regarding personnel work to build a truly streamlined city cadre, selecting cadres with virtue, talent, and prestige within the Party and among the people.
In addition, to prepare for the City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, it is necessary to prepare and select personnel for the Party Congresses at all levels; direct the development of plans for the placement, arrangement, and resolution of policies and benefits for redundant cadres after the merger of administrative units and the streamlining of the apparatus.
Clearly define the plan and roadmap for gradually building and developing Nam Dinh City according to the approved master plan until 2040, with a vision to 2050. Prioritize attracting investment and developing industries and sectors that produce products with high technological content, added value, and competitiveness; gradually shift towards supporting industries and high-tech industries; plan and implement specialized production areas in suburban communes with high-economic-value agricultural products…
At the same time, we must continue to focus on socio-cultural development, improving the material and spiritual lives of the people; effectively implement social welfare policies; and ensure national defense and security for sustainable development.
The 2024 year-end review conference is not only an opportunity to look back on the past journey, but also to set specific directions for the future. With unity and high determination, the Party Committee, government, and people of Nam Dinh City will certainly continue to achieve even greater successes, building the city into a sustainable economic and cultural center of the region.
