HCMC: Nearly 800 union members and youth participate in Green Sunday

On July 20, Tam Thang Ward Youth Union (HCMC) organized the Green Sunday launching ceremony, with the participation of nearly 500 union members and young people from the following branches: Ben Da 2 Border Guard Station, Agribank Vung Tau Branch 3, Ship HQ-13, schools and neighborhoods in the area.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Youth Union collected garbage along Thuy Van beach, about 2.5km long (from Thuy Van - Nguyen An Ninh intersection to Chi Linh area). Nearly 3 tons of garbage were collected and handed over to Vung Tau Urban Environmental Services and Construction Joint Stock Company (VESCO) for treatment.

This is the first time Tam Thang Ward Youth Union has organized Green Sunday, contributing to spreading the message of environmental protection awareness, building a green - clean - beautiful lifestyle in the community and tourists.

On the same day, in Phuoc Thang ward, the Border Guard Squadron 18 (Border Guard Command) coordinated with Phuoc Thang ward to organize the launching ceremony of the peak day of "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" and the "Green Sunday" movement.

More than 300 officers and youth union members of Border Guard Squadron 18 and other units and localities in the area participated in collecting garbage and cleaning the environment on more than 5km of roads on Route 2/9 and residential areas, collecting more than 5.5 tons of various types of waste and removing illegal advertisements and classified ads.
