According to GadgetMatch , following the massive success of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 , it's no surprise that Insomniac Games plans to develop more games within the Marvel universe. Some of these titles have even been leaked recently. Notably, one of the most anticipated games on that list – a game supposedly part of the Spider-Verse – will not be released.
The Spider-Verse is one of the most captivating lore stories about Peter Parker and the various Spider-Man variants across different universes. Last year, the popular animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released. According to leaks at the time, Insomniac Games was also developing a game based on the film's story.
A Spider-Verse game was reportedly canceled by Insomniac Games.
However, a new leak suggests the game has been canceled. A concept trailer surfaced on Reddit revealing a game that was supposed to be released under the title Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web , which was supposed to be a massively multiplayer online game inspired by the Spider-Verse story.
The trailer shows hero Peter Parker teaming up with several other Spider-Men to fight the Sinister Six. These heroes include Parker, Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Man 2099.
Although most of the leaked information is for reference only, this leaked trailer is quite impressive. It features outfits that players have seen before, but also new movements never seen before. The trailer even includes the voice of actress Yuri Lowenthal.

Although the trailer indicated the game was canceled, there's still a possibility of a future Spider-Verse game. The cancellation is understandable, as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League didn't achieve the expected success, making the development of another superhero game in a live-service format likely to face significant challenges.
