New opportunities
Quang Nam is considered a locality with a diverse and unique system of tourism resources distributed throughout its regions. With investment in transportation infrastructure as well as tourist areas/sites, Quang Nam is gradually expanding its tourism brand beyond the two World Heritage sites of Hoi An and My Son.
Following the construction of the Vo Chi Cong road (coastal road 129), tourism in southern Hoi An has undergone a strong transformation with the operation of many large projects such as Hoiana, Vinpearl Nam Hoi An, TUI Blue Nam Hoi An… Meanwhile, with the emergence of the Dong Giang Heaven's Gate eco-tourism area, the East-West tourism axis from Hoi An to the highlands has gained a new opening.
Recently, FVG Travel Group Joint Stock Company proposed that local authorities consider and officially announce two tourist routes with specific itineraries. These include: the East-West tourist route (Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang) and the coastal tourist route (Hoi An - Nam Hoi An - Tam Ky - Chu Lai Airport).
This announcement will provide investors, especially in the tourism sector, with a stronger basis to promote and expand investment, creating a breakthrough for these two routes with enormous tourism potential. FVG Group also commits, as the investor of the Dong Giang Heaven's Gate Eco-tourism Area, to upgrading the scale of this destination in the 2025-2030 period to accommodate approximately 1-3 million visitors per year.
Linking for growth
Ms. Vo Ngoc Anh, General Director of FVG Travel Group JSC, believes that connecting tourist destinations with the diverse cultures of Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary, and the indigenous culture of the Co Tu people in Dong Giang into a "golden route" is essential to create a diverse and in-depth tourism product chain for the development of Quang Nam tourism.
Furthermore, this could help attract more investors along the route to organize rest stops, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc., creating more jobs and contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality.
The routes of these two tourist lines are not new and pass through many destinations and areas with important tourism resources in Quang Nam.
At a seminar on tourism development in Quang Nam province, Mr. Tran Trong Kien, Chairman of Thien Minh Group, stated that the coastal strip from the south of Cua Dai Bridge to Tam Tien will soon become a new center for high-end seaside resorts in Vietnam.
Rarely does any region in our country, or even in other countries, simultaneously possess such a long, beautiful coastline, a relatively stable climate, combined with a wealth of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and picturesque natural landscapes.
Regarding the East-West tourism route, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu assessed that the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang tourism route is a unique and rare tourism axis in the region with many distinctive values in both nature and culture. Destinations along this axis are actively creating many new products and will continue to develop strongly in the future.
It is clear that with a better tourism planning framework, some areas possessing potential destinations but lacking adequate development, such as Tam Ky City and other highland localities, will have increased opportunities to attract investment in this sector.
According to the head of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the proposal to announce these two tourist routes is currently only a suggestion from the business. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will review and study the matter in detail before proposing that the province make an official decision.
