Deploying the Project to Improve Knowledge for Vietnamese Small and Medium Enterprises
The project is expected to improve the skills and management level of Vietnamese enterprises towards professional and modern management according to international standards, forming a strong business force.
Delegates performed the launching ceremony of the online training project "Improving knowledge for Vietnamese SMEs". |
On the afternoon of June 11, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VSMEs) signed a memorandum of understanding on implementing the online training project "Improving knowledge for Vietnamese SMEs".
The project is implemented to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on promoting the role of entrepreneurs in the new situation and Resolution No. 66/NQ-CP dated May 9, 2024 of the Government on the Action Plan to implement Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW.
Deployed on the platform www.smelearning.vn, the project aims to improve the level and knowledge of the Vietnamese SME community, thereby helping businesses operate systematically, effectively and sustainably. The online learning platform will create opportunities for SMEs to have a convenient learning environment, gradually forming a "learning enterprise" environment in SMEs.
The project will be implemented nationwide in the period 2024 - 2035, aiming at the following goals: (1) Building about 500 courses by 2025 and about 6,000 courses by 2035; (2) About 1.5 million businesses nationwide will have access to free, quality courses, in accordance with the roadmap and development stage of the business; (3) More than 6,000 SME employees (business owners, managers, employees) will participate and benefit from the training courses.
Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong and Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises Nguyen Van Than signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of the two units. |
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said that Vietnam has more than 900,000 active enterprises, contributing more than 60% of the country's GDP. Enterprises are pioneers in applying science and technology, promoting innovation, constantly improving productivity and product and service quality, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the economy in the context of increasingly deep globalization.
Although certain results have been achieved, Vietnamese enterprises, especially the SME sector, still have many limitations, low competitiveness, low operational efficiency, and have not been able to participate in regional and global supply chains.
In addition, in the context of the ever-changing world economy, with a highly open economy, Vietnamese enterprises will face more difficulties when they have to both stabilize production and business, and at the same time meet the new requirements of green transformation, digital transformation and sustainable development.
Therefore, according to Deputy Minister Tran Duy Dong, the signing of the cooperation agreement to implement the Project "Improving knowledge for Vietnamese SMEs" will contribute to gradually improving the skills and management level of Vietnamese enterprises towards professional and modern management according to international standards, forming a strong business force that makes an increasingly important contribution to the country's economic development, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 41-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 66/NQ-CP of the Government.
Mr. Nguyen Kim Hung, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Business Administration and Digital Economy, presented an overview of the Project. |
Mr. Nguyen Van Than, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, said that to design this project, the Association carefully surveyed the needs of member businesses, from which it developed detailed and specific programs to meet the needs of different groups of businesses.
Through the Project, businesses in need will be trained in market knowledge and connected directly with potential customers, thereby solving the need to upgrade internal capacity as well as opening up the input and output of the business.
Mr. Than also affirmed that with the coordination of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, SMEs will have quick access to state policies and have the opportunity to contribute policy comments right from the first steps of development.
In addition, the Project will provide businesses with timely updated data on developments in the world and regional economy; along with forecasting some short, medium and long-term trends so that businesses can adjust their business models and plans accordingly.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises hopes that through this project, the Vietnamese SME community will truly "upgrade" and catch up with the country's development speed, thereby contributing more to job creation, budget revenue and improving the lives of workers.
The courses are designed according to 6 stages of business development including: (1) Business idea; (2) Business establishment; (3) Business operation; (4) Growth; (5) Maturity/Stability and (6) IPO; following the "3-legged stool" principle in building and developing a business: Sales and Marketing - Capital & Finance - Operations, Business Administration.
The three basic knowledge pillars above will be implemented in parallel with training courses to enhance skills, new ideas, experiences, popularize policies, and transfer technology suitable for each stage of business development. It is expected that each business participating in the Project will be provided with a free account for learning.
